The Opportunity
We currently have two People & Culture Business Partner opportunities within our P&C Partnering team, following recent internal promotions.
These roles partner closely with senior leaders across either Commercial & Sustainability or Customer Experience (CX), P&C, Legal & Safety, supporting large, complex and high-profile portfolios at the centre of Coles Group’s transformation agenda.
As a trusted advisor to leaders, you will shape and deliver commercially aligned people strategies across workforce planning, organisational effectiveness, leadership, capability, engagement, talent and performance. You’ll play a key role in translating business priorities into practical people outcomes that strengthen performance, culture and customer experience.
Beyond core partnering activity, you will contribute to strategic enterprise initiatives focused on lifting capability, evolving ways of working and enabling sustainable business performance. This role offers the opportunity to influence senior stakeholders, work across highly visible portfolios and help shape the future of how we work at Coles.
These are high-impact opportunities suited to commercially minded Business Partners who enjoy balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery in a fast-paced environment. The role has clear connection to business performance outcomes including productivity, retention, risk reduction, sales, margin and team effectiveness.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering people strategies that enable business performance, organisational effectiveness and sustainable growth across your portfolio.
You’ll operate as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, bringing a strong understanding of the business, commercial context and workforce priorities to influence decision-making and drive meaningful people outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Partner with leaders to shape organisational design and workforce strategies aligned to evolving business priorities and strategic goals.

Collaborate with Centres of Excellence to deliver integrated people solutions across talent, capability, leadership, engagement, culture and workforce planning.

Embed contemporary Talent & Performance practices that strengthen leadership capability, accelerate development and lift team effectiveness.

Partner closely with the Head of P&C to support the delivery of strategic people initiatives, transformation activity and change programs across the portfolio.

Provide commercially grounded coaching and advice to leaders on people, culture, organisational effectiveness and risk-related matters.

Lead and oversee the delivery of core P&C rhythms and cyclical activity, ensuring high-quality execution and alignment to enterprise priorities.

Use data, insight and business context to identify workforce trends, risks and opportunities, helping leaders make informed and forward-looking decisions.
About you and your skills

Demonstrated experience partnering with leaders to deliver organisational design, workforce and transformation initiatives within complex, fast-paced environments.

Strong People & Culture Business Partnering capability, with the ability to influence, challenge and support leaders to drive meaningful business and people outcomes.

Proven experience leading people and change initiatives and strategy through to implementation, communication and adoption.

Strong commercial acumen and ability to connect people strategy to operational and business performance outcomes.

Ability to build trusted relationships and influence effectively across all levels of an organisation, including senior stakeholders.

Data-led and customer-minded approach, with strong analytical capability and the ability to identify workforce insights, risks and opportunities.

Exceptional communication, stakeholder management and coaching capability.
