About the team
Coles Group Insurance protects our team members, customers, and business. We work across a variety of areas, from workers compensation to property insurance to public liability insurance. Our team offers strategic advice that guides decision making and helps Coles Group achieve its business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Accountable for personal compliance with internal company policies and procedures (including the Coles Code of Conduct) and applicable external laws and regulations.
- Integrate compliance requirements into site safety activities and operating practices.
- Communicate and reinforce the importance of compliance as part of site culture.
- Support the identification, escalation, management and reporting of compliance incidents and actions.
- Assist site leaders to complete required safety training, consultation and compliance activities.
Wellbeing and Safety in our DNA
- Support legislative compliance in the safe storage, handling and distribution of products at Edinburgh Parks DC.
- Coordinate site safety and wellbeing initiatives aligned to the Supply Chain Safety Strategy and local safety plan.
- Support implementation and adherence to Coles SafetyCARE policies, procedures and critical risk controls.
- Lead consultation and communication on safety matters with leaders, Team Members and Health and Safety Representatives.
- Monitor agreed safety requirements and actions for contractors, transport and business partners.
People and Leadership
- Coach and influence operational leaders and Team Members to strengthen safety ownership, capability and accountability.
- Champion Coles values and leadership behaviours and contribute to a positive and safe site culture.
Innovation through partnerships
- Build strong working relationships with Edinburgh Parks DC leaders, Team Members, Health and Safety Representatives and Supply Chain stakeholders.
- Partner with unions, transport providers, contractors and business partners to resolve site safety issues.
- Support engagement with state safety regulators on site compliance matters where required.
- Promote safe working relationships across the site and with Logistics stakeholders and external customers/vendors.
Continuous Improvement, Optimisation & Transformation
- Ensure the Coles Safety and Injury Management System is effectively implemented at Edinburgh Parks DC.
- Use trends, incidents and observations to identify risks and drive practical continuous improvement.
Strategic Business, Operational and Commercial Management
- Support and embed site initiatives aligned to business strategy and safety objectives, providing safety input to operational changes and process improvements.
You’ll have:
- Return to Work Experience is desirable with an understanding of South Australian Worker’s Compensation Laws.
- Experience in a safety advisor, specialist or similar role in an operational environment
- Experience in FMCG, warehousing, logistics or distribution centre operations
- Experience with risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective actions
- Proven ability to coach and influence leaders and Team Members
- Experience implementing site safety plans and continuous improvement
- Working knowledge of relevant South Australian safety legislation
- Diploma or Degree in Safety, WHS/OHS or a related discipline
- Strong communicator able to build relationships and influence safety outcome.
