Property looks after one of Australia’s most dynamic portfolios. With an extensive footprint of over 1,800 retail outlets nationally, we’re growing every day. Our team manages every one of these locations, and we work together with our business units on all thing’s property, from site acquisition through to asset management.

 

About the role

 


 

Are you a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in property analysis? Coles is seeking a talented Property Analyst to join our team, with opportunities based in either Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane. This role offers national scope and exposure to a diverse range of retail projects including acquisitions, divestments, balance sheet management, development and strategy.

 

Sitting within the wider Property business you'll play a lead role in undertaking financial analysis and providing analytical support to the Investment Management and Development team to increase their effectiveness and deliver excellent financial outcomes.

What you’ll be doing


 

 

Reporting to the National Capital Transactions Manager, you'll utilise your analytical skills and passion to partner with various business units and key Property stakeholders, undertaking thorough assessment of opportunities to drive growth and superior returns to make a real difference.

 

 

 

Other ways you can make an impact include:
 

 

 

  • Formulation of feasibility models for all Coles Group Property acquisitions, developments, and divestments
  • Preparation of complex board papers involving development and freehold economics
  • Liaising with State Property teams on acquisition, development and divestment program
  • Assessing commercial risks, rewards and developing a clear delivery and exit strategy (including timelines) for all acquisitions
  • Management of balance sheet asset strategy and internal valuation processes
  • Maintain tools and research to assist the Coles Property team achieve all goals
  • Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement within the team (and broader Property function) by identifying and implementing improved efficiencies and better ways of working.
     

 


About you
 

 

 

With 5+ years experience, you are a Retail Property Valuer or General Property Analyst with a valuation background (ideal, not mandatory).

 

Importantly, you bring demonstrated experience in a similar role with emphasis on property transactions, property numbers, property valuations and development feasibilities.

 

 

 

You'll also need:


 

 

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with numbers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Exceptional time management and autonomous task management abilities.
  • A meticulous attention to detail.
  • Tertiary qualification in a Property, Business or a related discipline
  • Extra brownie points if you have used Estate Master modelling tool.
