About the team

 

We’re launching two automated Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs) in Melbourne and Sydney. The new CFCs will redefine the customer experience in online grocery shopping, providing customers with improved availability and freshness, a broader produce range and a seamless digital experience, while also providing a safer working environment for our team members. As our Melbourne site ramps up, we have an opportunity for experienced Spoke Manager to join the team. 

About the role

 

Lead and manage the success of the Dandenong Spoke through go live and ongoing operations. Responsible for Spoke planning and execution to achieve Coles Ecommerce KPIs for safety, customer experience, cost, fulfilment and delivery. Support in achieving department budgets and implement improvements to operational DILOs, processes and safe working practice. Collaborate with CFC departments in order to achieve safe and optimal operational flow across a range of departments including inbound, production, picking, dispatch, dekit,  inventory, last mile delivery and quality assurance. Be the second in charge to the Customer Delivery Manager and step up as the main point of contact for the CFC driving team as appropriate during their absence.

 

You will also:

 

  • Oversee and drive a highly customer-focused culture across Spoke inbound, dispatch, dekit,  operations ('areas of responsibility'), ensuring Coles Online customers receive the 'perfect order' every time and are satisfied with their Coles Online experience.  
  • Execute the strategy implementation plan, to achieve the organisation's strategic objectives within Customer Fulfilment Centre & Spoke operations.
  • Ensure operational productivity, oversee problem solving for operational and Last Mile issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives within areas of responsibility, to help the Spoke contribute strongly to Coles' Ecommerce and One Operations customer experience objectives.
  • Ensure resourcing and productivity within areas of responsibility is sufficient to meet sales demand. 
  • Responsible for coordinating Spoke inbound, dekit, dispatch and Last Mile operations within budget, and supporting an ongoing focus on continuous improvement to drive cost efficiencies within these areas.
  • Acting as a role model and advocate, ensure that business activities and team members adhere to the organization's HS&W policies & procedures and legislative requirements to safeguard the environment, protect the wellbeing of individuals and minimize business risk. 

 

About you and your skills

 

  • 3-5 years' experience as a leader, supervisor or manager in a logistics, FMCG, retail or manufacturing environment. 
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and supervising large teams in a fast-paced, complex workplace combining automated plant operations with labour intensive and manual workstreams.  
  • Managing end-to-end processes within a customer fulfilment centre from receiving to customer fulfilment & satisfaction.
