About the role

 

A permanent opportunity of a Junior to Mid-Level Backend (or fullstack) Software Engineer is now available at QuiteLike. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role will primarily be responsible for building and nurturing not only our consumer facing products but also our engineering culture. Whilst we are looking for a candidate who is strong in backend technologies, if you are someone who has worked as a fullstack engineer you will also be considered and we want to hear from you.

 

 

Key Responsibilities will include:

 

 

Work Experience

 

  • Software engineer with at least 3-5 years’ experience
  • Experience with web technologies such as HTML5, Node.js, TypeScript & React
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with AWS is preferred
  • Desirabe experience in modern development practises including the use of CI/CD pipelines, Git and secure coding practises
  • Understanding and familiaratiy with microservices architecture
  • Experience with event driven architecture and related services
  • Familiar with SQL & NoSQL databases
  • Experience with test automation
  • Experience in an agile working environment
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

 

 

 

Engineering quality

 

  • Ensure the team is developing software quality in-line with the broader teams’ expectations
  • Facilitate and govern peer reviews and testing standards

 

 

Commercial Skills & Formal Qualifications

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a technology engineering discipline such as computer science preferred
  • Ability to engage with other technical leaders to drive improvements outside of your direct influence
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Great people communicator, excellent communication skills
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple technology and business teams
