Team Manager - Redbank Automated Distribution Centre
From small everyday moments among the team to larger-scale changes unique to a business like ours, as a Leader, you’ll see the impact of your work connecting to customers and the communities we serve. Whether you’re in a store, distribution centre, manufacturing site or on the road, you’ll play an important part in how we achieve our purpose of helping Australians eat and live better every day.
About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Team Manager to join our Automated Distribution Centre (ADC) at Redbank.
Ready for something bigger?
Epic in scale and advanced in design, our Redbank ADC brings together sophisticated automation, technology and people to deliver for our stores. It’s an operation unlike a traditional distribution centre – complex, fast-moving and designed to deliver at scale.
And that’s what makes this opportunity different. You’ll build experience in an environment that will challenge you to think differently, keep learning and grow your capability, while having the opportunity to influence how we work and make a genuine impact.
At the heart of the role is your team. We’re looking for someone who builds trust, sets high standards and knows when to coach, challenge, recognise and support. You’ll be curious about what’s possible, open to new ideas and confident making decisions.
Monday to Friday, 5am–1:30pm roster
What you’ll be doing
- Deliver Coles Quality, Compliance, Safety, Reliability and Cost requirements.
- Lead the day-to-day operation of your area, providing clear direction and visible leadership.
- Coach and develop your team, building capability, confidence and accountability.
- Use data and operational insights to understand performance, solve problems and make informed decisions.
- Drive continuous improvement across safety, service, productivity and ways of working.
- Work across operational, automation, maintenance and support teams to remove barriers and keep the operation moving.
- Lead change, challenge the status quo and turn improvement opportunities into results.
About you and your skills
Your experience may come from supply chain, logistics, manufacturing or another complex operational environment.
You know how to get the best from people. You can build an engaged team and create an environment where people want to succeed. You’re just as comfortable on the floor with your team as you are working with data, solving operational problems and planning what comes next.
You’ll also:
- Have demonstrated experience leading teams of 20+.
- Have a strong track record of coaching, developing and building high-performing teams.
- Be confident using operational KPIs, data and insights to improve performance.
- Communicate clearly, build strong relationships and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Bring a genuine continuous improvement mindset; Lean or Six Sigma experience is highly regarded.
- Have qualifications in supply chain, manufacturing, logistics or a related discipline – highly regarded but not essential.
You don’t need to be an automation expert. Bring your leadership experience, curiosity and drive to improve – we’ll help you build your knowledge of our operation.
Why make the move?
- Scale. Experience a sophisticated, highly automated operation where people, technology and performance come together.
- Impact. Bring your ideas, ask questions and help us find better ways to operate.
- Growth. Build new skills, broaden your experience and continue developing your career at Coles.
- Our workplace. Free parking, onsite canteen, temperature-controlled environment, uniform and PPE provided, plus eligible team member discounts, recognition benefits and paid parental leave.
