About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and proactive personal injury professional to join Coles Team Cover as a Claims Specialist in a Permanent Full-time role.

 

Reporting to the Claims Team Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of detached workers compensation claims in collaboration with stakeholders to reduce workers compensation liabilities and minimise the impact of workplace injury. 

 

What you’ll be doing

On a day to day basis this role will see you utilising your experience within claims management to set the claims strategy and provide a great outcome for our business and team members.

 

You’ll also:

  • Understand the key requirements of workers compensation claims management and following processes and legal requirements to reduce claims.
  • Enable quick resolution of simple workers compensation claims with a strong focus on engagement between injured team members and the business to bring about understanding, involvement and continuous improvement in claims management.
  • Identify ‘red flags’ that would indicate a risk of higher cost and escalating as required.
  • Continue to extend own knowledge of workers compensation claims, legal framework and stakeholder expectations to ensure effective risk management of claims.

 

Good things you’ll need

A strong result driven professional with a demonstrated experience working in claims within a worker’s compensation or insurance environment.

 

You’ll also need

  • a strong understanding of customer service and experience interfacing into customers in difficult situations
  • experience in completing Work Capacity Decisions
  • experience in managing long term workers compensation claims
  • a knowledge of the current Workers Compensation Legislation
  • experience in negotiating Return to Work and rehabilitation outcomes
  • effective interpersonal and communication capabilities
  • an ability to manage multiple priorities to meet agreed deadlines
  • qualification or certification in a health or business-related field (highly desirable) #LI-BU
