Coles Group Insurance protects our team members, customers and business. We work across a variety of areas, from workers compensation to property insurance to public liability insurance. Our team offers strategic advice that guides decision making and helps our Group achieve its business outcomes.


As a national team, Coles Group Team Cover engages and collaborates across the entire Coles family to minimise the impact of workplace injury and help ensure our Team Members come home safely every day. In unfortunate cases of workplace accident or injury, we seek to support our Team Members, so they can concentrate on recovering and come back to work as soon as possible.


About the role

Reporting to the Claims Team Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of ACT and NSW/VIC border self-insured workers compensation claims and will work closely with key stakeholders to achieve optimal return to work and claim outcomes. 
You will be working remotely from home, with the requirement to occasionally travel to our Sydney office (which will be fully funded).


On a day-to-day basis this role will see you utilising your experience within end-to-end claims management for a portfolio of ACT and NSW/VIC border self-insured workers compensation claims to set the claims strategy for claims from start to end and provide a great outcome for our business and team members.


You’ll also:


  • managing 40 - 50 Workers Compensation claims
  • communicating and interacting with medical professionals to facilitate return to work
  • participating in multidisciplinary reviews
  • interacting and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders

About you and your skills


A strong result driven professional with a demonstrated experience in claims management within a worker’s compensation or insurance environment.
You’ll also need:

  • significant experience working as Case Officer in an Agent or Self insurer
  • excellent knowledge of the current ACT Workers Compensation Legislation
  • experience in negotiating Return to Work and rehabilitation outcomes
  • effective interpersonal and communication capabilities with a customer service mindset
  • ability to manage multiple priorities to meet agreed deadlines and a high attention to detail
  • qualification or certification in a health or business-related field will be highly desirable
