About the team

 

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

About the role:  

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Technology Service Continuity Manager to lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of our IT disaster recovery and business continuity programs. This role is critical to ensuring the resilience of our technology services and minimizing disruption to business operations in the event of incidents or outages. 

Additionally, a core component of the role will be assessing the current state of our recovery capabilities, testing model and assurance processes, to collaboratively develop a strategy and roadmap for the continual uplift of these capabilities, particularly in testing maturity.

Key responsibilities include:  

  • Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive IT Disaster Recovery (DR) program aligned with business continuity objectives 
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and business teams to identify critical systems and recovery requirements 
  • Develop and maintain DR plans, runbooks, and recovery procedures across all technology domains 
  • Lead regular DR testing exercises, ranging from tabletop simulations, full-scale recovery drills, and end-to-end service recovery 
  • Establish and refine mature testing practices to validate recovery capabilities and ensure compliance with internal and external standards 
  • Monitor and report on service continuity risks, readiness, and performance metrics 
  • Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on DR processes and responsibilities 
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies related to service continuity 
  • Experience achieving outcomes through others (internal, managed services etc) 

  

 

About you and your skills:  

  • Proven experience in developing and managing enterprise-level IT disaster recovery programs 
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure, cloud platforms, and application dependencies 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Technology Service Continuity concepts plus experience in applying these concepts through mature Disaster Recovery activities  
  • Experience assessing service impacts to an organisation, and supporting the translation of these into actionable DR plans with Technology Teams 
  • Experience participating in or leading gap analysis and maturity uplift recommendations within an organisation as they relate to IT Disaster Recovery/Service Continuity 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and evolve testing practices, including scenario planning and post-test analysis 
  • Experience in ITIL and Service management functions desirable 
  • Experience achieving outcomes through others (internal, managed services etc)
