About the team

 

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

This role will be part of the Operating Systems Engineering team, a deeply technical and hands-on team, primarily responsible for building and operating Windows and Linux server solutions and working closely with the broader Digital security and Cloud engineering groups.

 

As a Systems Engineer, you will apply your infrastructure and automation skills to deliver new Windows server solutions by developing automated Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions. 

 

About the role:

 

Reporting to the Operating system engineering manager, you will fully accountable for building Microsoft Server and Infrastructure solutions, working closely with internal and external stakeholders, and providing professional technical advice throughout the organisation.

 

You’ll also:

  • Responsible for the project delivery of Windows Server solutions from build to production handover.
  • Provide technical planning, standards and solutions to meet business needs and project timelines.
  • Develop detailed documentation to satisfy business and operational requirements.
  • Perform all aspects of planning, development and implementation of infrastructure across the organisation.
  • Provide in-depth technical expertise and advice as appropriate to the organisation.

 

 

About you and your skills:

 

As a hands-on Systems Engineer, this role offers you the opportunity to work on different Microsoft technologies and tools, managing the end-to-end processes to shape Coles’ new technology portfolio.

 

  • Proven performance in planning and delivering computing infrastructure in a large-scaled enterprise environment.
  • Strong Azure automation experience using Azure DevOps, Ansible Automation Platform and Terraform.
  • Experience in delivering IaaS solutions across Azure, VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Strong working knowledge of Enterprise technologies including Windows Server O/S, VMware and physical server hardware and storage solutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of building and delivering enterprise technologies such as, SOE development and security, clustering, SQL, and 3 tier architecture
