<h3>About the role</h3>
An opportunity exists for a dynamic Strategy Business Partner (SBP) to join our Group Strategy function. In this pivotal role, you will partner with senior stakeholders to shape and execute Coles’ strategic priorities, ensuring we remain a world class retailer. You’ll play a critical role in turning insights into action, supporting decision-making at the highest level, and driving initiatives that deliver long-term value. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Deliver fact-based insights to inform business strategies, the corporate plan, and solutions to critical challenges.
- Partner with Group Strategy Managers and the Heads of Strategy to design and execute Coles’ strategy.
- Apply structured problem-solving and rigorous analysis to develop initiatives and define success metrics for strategic issues.
- Act as a strategic thought partner to senior stakeholders, driving execution of key initiatives.
- Conduct high-quality quantitative and qualitative analysis to solve complex business problems.
- Synthesise findings into clear recommendations that enable effective execution.
- Take ownership of project success within your area of responsibility, ensuring timely and impactful delivery.
- Identify risks to in-scope projects and support the development of mitigation plans.
<h3>About you and your skills</h3>
You are a strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities, able to turn complexity into clarity and influence senior stakeholders with confidence. You will bring:
- Experience from a leading management consulting (ideally McKinsey, Bain or BCG) or retail strategy.
- Demonstrated capability in structured, hypothesis-led problem solving across complex and ambiguous business challenges.
- Experience leading workstreams within large-scale, multi-stakeholder transformation or strategy programs.
- Exposure to preparing and contributing to Board and executive-level presentations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence operating at senior leadership level.
- Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional business units within matrixed environments.
- A track record of performing in high-performance, outcomes-focused teams.
- Strong financial modelling expertise, with the ability to develop robust business cases and commercial insights.
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, with a track record of producing executive-ready materials.
