About the role
Reporting into our Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be required to develop supply strategies for Coles Brand portfolios to ensure best value supply solutions and improve supplier relationships through sourcing, direct negotiations or value-added sourcing.
You will:
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies into category plans to structurally drive out cost in conjunction with the contract renewal cycle
- Structure and manage key sourcing initiatives/projects to conclusion whilst maintaining ongoing alignment with key business customers and other relevant stakeholders
- Manage quality of work by direct reports
- Deliver savings and value targets set against plans through commercial dealings with suppliers in conjunction with internal customers
About you and your skills
We’re on the lookout for a strategic sourcing expert with deep end-to-end experience and sharp commercial instincts – ideally gained in a Retail or FMCG environment. If you thrive on making data-driven decisions, negotiating with impact, and turning strategy into results, this is your chance to drive real commercial outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
You’ll also have:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in procurement or commercial management
- Strong business acumen and negotiation skills ideally gained in major projects and contract negotiations
- Demonstrated skills in the development of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models
- Deep understanding of Australian Contract Law relating to the purchase and supply of good and services
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to engage and influence various stakeholders
