About the team

The Payments Services division of Coles Group is undergoing significant transformation, and we’re seeking to both redefine our existing roles and introduce several new roles that will be key to our success.

 

About the role

An opportunity is now available for a Solution Consultant, who should be well-rounded, adaptable to a fast-paced, lean, and agile working environment. The Solution Consultant role will include the following responsibilities but will not be limited to:

 

  • Support the transformation to a managed service, cloud service, and cloud application-based development landscape,
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the Payments portfolio landscape, and have a solid understanding of Payments Projects and Programs affecting the Payments Landscape, both internally and externally,
  • Responsible for technology solutions on the shared Fintech Payments Platforms (with a focus on Instore Payments),
  • Assist to develop the Payments Technology Strategy,
  • Develop solution design options for complex systems in alignment with enterprise architecture policies,
  • Build and maintain relationships and engage with appropriate stakeholders and key decision makers across Payments Services, Coles IT, Business and Brands to conduct workshops and to deliver solution design options,
  • Promote and ensure that appropriate standards, methods and tools for solution architecture and development are adopted and used effectively, ensuring fit for purpose and alignment of enterprise architecture, security and delivery,
  • Articulate and communicate trade-offs for architecture decisions to both business and technical audiences when obtaining buy-ins to the solution,
  • Produce both high-level and detailed estimates for initiatives proposed by the payments business and FinTech teams.

 

 

About you & your skills

  • Strong background in a solution design or equivalent role, at least five years
  • Pragmatic and proven solution designing skills with a generic background in designing a range of solutions particularly for payments platforms
  • Experience in designing digital platforms that can scale and can be integrated into other interacting platforms
  • Experience working towards solutions that enable transition of platforms from on-premise to managed data centres / cloud service providers
  • Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies and roadmaps

 

 

Commercial Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in information technology software engineering OR equivalent relevant professional working experience required.
  • Whilst experience is preferred over qualifications, candidates that possess degrees / diplomas / certificates related to a technical solution design discipline will be favoured.
  • Previous experience as a solution designer for payments systems, financial systems, or banking systems is strongly desired.
