About the role


We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Integration team. This team’s mission is to build bridges between the different tooling, infrastructure & business services that power Coles. Our brands rely on this seamless integration to serve over 21 million customers at over 2,500 outlets around Australia every day.

Reporting to the Delivery Manager of Integrated Services, you will be joining a fast-paced team of Software Engineers and operate in an agile environment. You will be working alongside some of the most innovative Senior Engineers leading this team, to migrate workloads to Cloud and develop databases to ensure the Coles online and mobile platforms our customers use are functional and user-friendly. Your expertise will have a real impact and help shape the way our customers shop online and in store, as we continue to drive innovation and optimise customer experiences.

Good things you’ll need

To be successful in this role and team, we require the following criteria to be met:

  • Extensive experience in full stack development
  • Ability to adopt Agile Methodologies
  • Experience with API integrations and containers
  • Datastage or Microsoft Azure experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, ECMAScript, JavaScript
  • Familiarity with relational databases like Postgres, MSSQL, etc
  • A good understanding of popular node packages like Express, Sequelize, Apollo.
  • Confidence building and running services using CI/CD and dev-ops practices
  • 5 + years of commercial experience as a Software Engineer or Fullstack Developer.



Bonus points for:

  • Experience with various cloud platforms such as Kubernetes, ArgoCD
  • Experience with JFrog, SonarQube and Azure DevOps
  • Experience with Terraform IaC
  • Experience building your own CLI
