About the team

 

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

 

 

About the role:

 

The primary objectives of this role will be as follows:

 

  • Provide technical design, configuration, interface, reporting and other application technical tasks for Merchandise applications meeting relevant standards 
  •  Working with development teams and upstream/downstream systems teams to perform impact analysis to meet or retain key SLAs 
  • Work with DevOps, Release and Environment management teams to support release, build and deployment pipelines 
  • Contribute to the overall design and architecture of a broad array of technical solutions 
  • Contribute to the advancement of engineering practices 
  • Contribute in knowledge transfer, skill development, and general mentorship to other developers 

 

 

Commercial Skills and Formal Qualifications:

 

  • At least 2 years working in an analyst programmer / software engineer capacity and contributing to all aspects of application technical stacks including database and UNIX/Linux. 

  • At least 5 years working in whole software engineering lifecycle (preferably in Java or Oracle space) 

  • Excellent understanding of product development methodologies, both agile and waterfall 

  • Good understanding of full stack product architecture and infrastructure components 

  • Knowledge of product lifecycle and devops processes such as build, deploy and automated testing would be highly desirable 

  • Experience in large or complex organisations requiring stakeholder management would be highly desirable 

  • Bachelor of Software Engineering or similar (i.e. Computer Science or Information Technology) 

  • Azure Certifications (desirable) 

  • Merchandising experience is highly desirable 

  • Agile and DevOps experience is highly desirable
