Senior Transformation & Delivery Manager
We’ve been proudly serving Australian communities since 1914 and have grown to become a top 30-listed company on the ASX with a portfolio of iconic homegrown brands. At the heart of our continued success is over 115,000 team members working across the country, all contributing to bringing our customers smiles. You’ll not only get to see your work make a difference, you’ll be part of a team working together to help Australians eat and live better every day.
About the team
Our Commercial team is a large, but a close-knit group of trading experts, who are ready to shape the future of Coles. We pride ourselves on the long-lasting supplier relationships we build, the new ideas we develop and how passionately we work to help Australian eat and live better every day. And the best part? We’re all so different. We bring diversity of thought, backgrounds, and experience to every Business Unit across Coles Supermarkets and Liquor.
About the role
We’re looking for a highly capable Senior Transformation & Delivery Manager to lead complex, business-led initiatives that drive continuous improvement across our Commercial function.
This role sits at the intersection of program delivery, business transformation, and process optimisation. You’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering initiatives that improve end-to-end ways of working, uplift capability, and deliver measurable outcomes across the retail value chain.
Importantly, this is not a purely technical project management role. Instead, it requires someone who can operate confidently within the business, navigate ambiguity, and bring stakeholders on the journey while landing meaningful change.
You will also:
- Lead the planning, prioritisation and delivery of transformation and continuous improvement initiatives aligned to business objectives
- Identify and implement process optimisation opportunities across Commercial and cross-functional teams
- Document current and future processes to support sustainable change
- Manage end-to-end program delivery, including scope, scheduling, governance, risks and dependencies
- Lead governance forums and provide clear, engaging reporting to senior stakeholders
- Build strong relationships across Commercial, Supply Chain, Digital, Finance and broader business teams
- Track and report on initiative benefits, ensuring delivery of measurable outcomes
- Drive a data-led approach to improve efficiency and reduce risk across processes
About you and your skills
You’re a well-rounded program and transformation professional who thrives in complex environments and knows how to land change within the business. You bring a strong balance of delivery rigour, commercial mindset, stakeholder influence, and communication excellence. You’re confident operating across both strategic and detailed levels, and you understand that success comes from bringing people with you, not just delivering a plan. You have proven capability in translating ambiguity into clear plans, messaging and outcomes, along with a strong balance of big-picture thinking and hands-on delivery execution. Your pragmatic, adaptable approach focused on outcomes rather than rigid methodology sets you up for success in this role.
You’ll also ideally have:
- Proven experience delivering business-led transformation or continuous improvement initiatives end-to-end
- Strong program or project management capability across scope, schedule, risk and governance
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, influencing and communication skills (including executive-level presentations)
- Ability to manage complexity, ambiguity and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong process mindset, including experience with process mapping and optimisation
- Experience delivering tech-enabled initiatives (without needing to be a technical specialist)
- Analytical and data-driven approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
- High attention to detail combined with strong commercial awareness and financial acumen
