About the role

 

Reporting into the Head of Commercial Trade Activation, the new position of Senior Trade Planning Manager will develop and build promotional planning strategies, ensuring effective and strategic alignment in the execution of our Fresh Produce customer offer. This role will optimise commercial outcomes while delivering a customer centric execution plan and foster cross-functional collaboration across Commercial, Customer, Operations and Supply chain teams.

 

You will:

  • Collaborate closely with category teams including General Managers and Business Category Managers to develop multi-horizon promotional plans that align with category strategies, supplier agreements, and market dynamics
  • Own analysis of insights to identify growth opportunities within Fresh Produce and make recommendations and challenge bases on these findings
  • Develop and establish processes for ongoing reviews of promotional effectiveness, aligning with customer trends and seasonal dynamics
  • Align the promotional calendar with the customer calendar to deliver a cohesive trade plan, while appropriately challenging and influencing stakeholders to strengthen the value proposition for Fresh Produce
  • Conduct assessments of local competitor markets and manage activities by reviewing and responding to market dynamics on a state-by-state level, ensuring the right value proposition is deliver to customers

 

About you and your skills

 

You’re a high achiever with proven commercial capabilities. You thrive in dynamic environments where you can develop and build new process, uniting cross functional team initiatives, and showcase your expertise in leading change.

 

You will also have:

  • Extensive retail experience in a comparable commercial role, with commercial and leadership responsibilities delivering against KPI targets
  • Demonstrated strong financial expertise within a business unit context, utilising financial analysis to drive strategic decision-making and optimise performance
  • Demonstrated comprehensive category management experience, optimising product offerings, pricing and promotions to drive growth and align with business goals
  • Experience in building and executing a trade plan
  • Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with various stakeholders and managing effective relationships internally and externally
  • Experience & proven examples of influencing at a senior leadership level to secure buy-in and drive alignment
