About the team

 

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

About the role:

 

The Site Infrastructure Team function exists to provide solutions, manage, and maintain the ongoing, development, operational and security aspects for Coles Sites & Stores.

From a strategic outcome’s perspective, the Site Infrastructure Team aims to maximise the benefit of cloud technology IaaS solutions as a platform and enabler.

 

This role is responsible for the development, production of automated infrastructure as code using Azure resources for the various infrastructure and application teams within Coles Stores.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Build and automate infrastructure as code solutions using Microsoft Azure IaaS, DevOps, and Architecture.
  • Working on Microsoft Azure IaaS, DevOps, and Architecture to ensure seamless infrastructure management.
  • Provide technical expertise and advice deemed as appropriate to the organisation requirements
  • Provide support to cross-functional teams using Azure services and associated toolsets
  • As an Infrastructure as Code Engineer, you will be responsible for provisioning and configuring infrastructure across the DevOps architecture using code and APIs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless infrastructure management across the DevOps architecture, including CI/CD pipelines. - Create, modify, and delete infrastructure using code and APIs, ensuring compliance with Coles security and any regulatory requirements. 
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure documentation, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures. 
  • Provide Project & BAU development, automation on prem & Azure solutions, support, including and not limited to leading edge solutions, lifecycle, BAU continuous improvement enhancing user experience.


About you and your skills:

 

To be successful, you will have proven experience in IAAS development especially in cloud native applications. Development skills include:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Microsoft Azure IaaS. 
  • DevOps (JFrog Artifactory, X-Ray, Azure Resource Manager, Azure DevOps, GitHub, GCP)
  • Scripting skills (Python, Bash, Powershell)
  • Experience in Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Terraform and Ansible
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Azure IaaS, DevOps,
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure as code principles and best practices, with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Solid grasp of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP &DNS
  • Previous experience in Retail, Logistics, Hospitality & Medical preferred however not essential.
