About the team

 

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

About the role:
 

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to support with the development and implementation of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) across the organisation and lead the development of automation capabilities across platform and infrastructure related technologies. You will be considered a SME within this team and be responsible for operations and lifecycle management of Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) for the enterprise.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Perform technical lead role to develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Linux server technologies.
  • Develop detailed designs for new and existing technologies to enable adoption of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) throughout the business.
  • Provide high-level support for Coles’ hybrid cloud platforms.
  • Develop technical standards and solutions to meet business needs within technical areas of expertise.
  • Manage assigned technologies, with consideration for: Return on Investment, Life Cycle Management, Business Continuity Planning and Service Level Management.
  • Develop and implement IaC services ensuring that all projects are delivered to user expectations and within agreed time frames.
  • Provide expert technical advice and guidance across the organisation to satisfy business requirements.

 

 

About you and your skills:

 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of IaaS automation practices
  • Demonstrated skills in automation workflow tools - Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform, Azure DevOps, Artifactory, GIT and VMware vRealise Orchestrator to deliver Infrastructure as a Service in a hybrid cloud environment.
  • Demonstrated skills with Linux server automation on Azure and VMware platforms
  • Demonstrated Shell, Puppet, Ansible, Perl, PHP, SQL, Python, YAML coding skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in DevOps practices & CI/CD skills using tools such as Go, Jenkins, GIT, Bit Bucket, Artifactory, Confluence, Jira
  • Proven performance in development of detailed designs for infrastructure in a large scale, complex and distributed business environment.
