About the team
Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. About the Role
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you’ll design, develop, and maintain world-class integration platforms, with a focus on IBM MQ and IBM MQ MFT. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and secure integration solutions, automate manual processes, and ensure seamless communication between systems. The role is in the integration space, you will use your experience to design, build and maintain the integration platforms following the current best practices in the industry
About You and Your Skills
- 8-10 years of professional experience as an Engineer, with 2-3 years in a senior capacity.
- Expertise in IBM MQ, IBM MQ MFT, and enterprise systems automation (e.g., Ansible).
- Strong proficiency in AIX, Linux, and Windows operating systems.
- Advanced scripting skills (PowerShell, Unix/Linux shell).
- Experience in working with integration tools like IBM ACE and managing complex system architectures.
- Hands-on knowledge of event-driven platforms, such as Kafka, Event Hub, or Event Grid.
- Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases, containerisation (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker), and release pipelines.
- Working knowledge of Agile principles and software engineering practices (e.g., CI/CD, clean code, SOLID).
- Cloud experience, with a preference for Azure.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Exposure to IBM Connect:Direct and IBM Tivoli Monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
