About the role

The Senior Strategy Project Manager is a pivotal role within the Express business which will support the Head of Strategic Initiatives in developing and monitoring the delivery of the transformation roadmap.

 

What you’ll be doing

You will partner with the Senior Leadership team within Coles Express to lead and deliver cross-functional strategic initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and that the business benefits are realised.

 

Other ways you’ll make an impact:

  • analyse key business problems and develop pragmatic solutions and implementation roadmaps
  • build solid business cases for approval, detailing business financial benefits and resource estimates required to support project development and execution
  • develop and execute engagement and communication plans for all identified business stakeholders
  • Mobilise teams cross-functionally across Commercial (Marketing, Merch, Commercial Excellence), Operations, Safety, Security, State teams, Formats, Store Development, Finance, P&C, Digital.
  • establish and implement strong project governance that ensures regular reporting for steering committee, senior leadership teams and project stakeholders
  • Take part in building and keeping alive a safe, inclusive and positive work environment for the team
  • Possibly take part in high-impact activities of  our Sustainability roadmap, working closely with partners partners

 

Good things you’ll need

We are looking for a knowledgeable Senior Project Manager or Program Manager with demonstrated experience in project managing significant programs and mid-large scale business initiatives, with an outstanding working knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes.

You’ll have an optimistic attitude with a strong ability to build relationships, challenge respectfully and bring new perspectives to the table. A good listener, you bring people together to achieve strategic goals and have a flexible and resilient mindset that enables you to pivot as needed and embrace change.

 

You’ll also need

  • experience working closely with senior management, ideally in consumer-led clients / businesses
  • proven ability to manage project governance, scheduling, financial and resource management, change control, risks, issues, and assumptions
  • strong end to end project management skills, with experience delivering key strategic transformation projects (including project governance, work planning, financial and resource management, change management, risk & issues, hypotheses building)
  • a breadth of knowledge within retail organization and business processes is highly regarded
  • experience leading virtual teams and working across functional matrix organisations to deliver results
  • management consulting and strategy backgrounds highly regarded, as is experience in Business Improvement Methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and confidence presenting to senior stakeholders #LI-BU
