About the role
Our Digital team is continuously growing and we’re going through a transformation. We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Engineering team to build and deliver world class mobile apps. As a Senior Software Engineer - Search and Recommendations, you will help customers find what they are looking for anyplace, anytime, anywhere.
You will
- Drive an engineering team to develop delivery goals within agreed timelines
- Facilitate agile scrum practices within the team, offer support to delivery managers in defining timelines and project requirements
- Ensure the team is developing software quality in-line with the broader teams’ expectations
- Facilitate and govern peer reviews and testing standards
- Empower and develop the engineering team’s skills
- Facilitate training, ensure all engineers are meeting needs and gaining help to close gaps
- Grow a culture that elicits a high-performing team and a fun working environment
You have
Extensive experience in:
- Java development
- Spring / Spring Boot
- Microservices
- API Integration
- Cloud technologies with Azure framework highly regarded
- Docker / Kubernetes
- Adopting a CI/CD Pipeline mindset
- Code version control management tools
- Unit/integration testing frameworks
- Service performance testing and optimisations
Desirable Experience:
- API client tools i.e Postman
- Data processing with Python, pyspark like tools
- Willingness to learn/get exposure to other systems and technologies
- Good exposure to Agile Scrum working environments
- Experience working in large scale projects and heavy-traffic platforms
- Ability to drive and enforce software engineering practices
- Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
