About the role

 

A great opportunity is available for a Senior iOS Engineer to be a part of the Omnichannel squad supporting updates to the Coles Pay initiative (a digital wallet that allows you to check out more easily when shopping online) and instore experience such as WayFinding (a feature to help customers of all abailities find products quicker and navigate our stores efficiently).

 

This is a permanent opportunity reporting to the Engineering Manager.

 

 

Work Experience

 

  • Seasoned software engineer with at least 5 years’ experience on the tools
  • Extensive experience with iOS development and frameworks i.e. SwiftUI
  • Good exposure to Agile Scrum working environments
  • Experience working in large scale projects and heavy-traffic platforms
  • Ability to drive and enforce software engineering practices
  • Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Desirable to of have experience in a cloud environment
  • Desirable to of have experience with release and automation pipelines
  • Tertiary qualifications in a technology engineering discipline such as computer science

 

 

Area's of Accountability

 

Software Delivery

 

  • Drive an engineering team to develop delivery goals within agreed timelines
  • Facilitate agile scrum practices within the team, offer support to delivery managers in defining timelines and project requirements

 

 

Engineering Quality

 

  • Ensure the team is developing software quality in-line with the broader teams’ expectations
  • Facilitate and govern peer reviews and testing standards

 

 

Team development

 

  • Empower and develop the engineering team’s skills
  • Facilitate training, ensure all engineers are meeting needs and gaining help to close gaps
  • Grow a culture that elicits a high-performing team and a fun working environment
