We deliver value through quality technology solutions that simplify our distribution and transport businesses. Our platform includes over 40 tools and applications used by our distribution and transport team members daily, including business critical applications.
About the Role
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of large, complex technology projects within the Group’s retail businesses — including supermarkets, liquor, and group platforms.
This role ensures that major initiatives are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with enterprise strategy, business priorities, and quality standards.
You will be required to plan, coordinate, and govern all aspects of project execution — including scope, schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder management.
Working closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture, and Business teams, the role ensures that project outcomes are well-defined, achievable, and deliver tangible business value while maintaining stability across operational environments.
Beyond execution, the Senior Project Manager drives the continuous improvement of delivery practices — embedding strong governance, reporting, and agile delivery disciplines to improve predictability and transparency.
Through effective leadership, communication, and collaboration, the role ensures that complex projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard, enabling the Group to deliver transformative outcomes across all retail brands and technology platforms.
You will be responsible for managing the successful delivery of projects within Integration and Store Infrastructure Technology, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, budgets, and scope.
This role focuses on driving execution excellence, maintaining governance and compliance, mitigating risks, and fostering collaboration across teams and stakeholders to achieve project success while supporting a high-performing delivery environment.
About You
• Minimum of 10+ years of IT project management experience, successfully delivering transformation programs/projects in agile and hybrid environments across various operating and delivery models, including successful transition to operational support.
• Proven expertise in leading strategic project planning and execution, aligning operating models, functional designs, and enterprise objectives to drive business value.
• Strong experience in managing and delivering capability-driven projects, ensuring continuous process improvement and operational efficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to define, measure, and implement project success metrics, ensuring effective planning, execution, and collaboration with key stakeholders, including external vendors.
• Proven track record of managing project teams and resources, fostering team engagement, optimizing resource allocation, and driving high-performance project execution.
• Thought leadership in engineering strategy / alignment with business strategy.
• Market knowledge and experience in the delivery and management of retail and technology solutions.
• Financial and risk management skills.
• Stakeholder management skills
• Comprehensive understanding of IT project delivery frameworks and best practices, including processes, methodologies, associated toolsets, and operational integration.
• Strong technical acumen in IT systems, ERP and SAAS solutions, technology infrastructure, and hybrid cloud environments, ensuring alignment between business and technology objectives.
• Demonstrated experience managing project lifecycles for software solutions, infrastructure and enterprise platform implementations (e.g. integration, Warehouse and Transport Management Systems, Online Fulfilment Platforms etc)
• Solid expertise in service and product delivery management, ensuring projects meet business requirements and enterprise standards.
• Proven ability to manage vendor and stakeholder relationships, ensuring effective collaboration, contract management, and service delivery to agreed expectations.
• Success in driving high-quality project outcomes, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery of business-critical initiatives.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders, influence decisions, and drive project success.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring alignment, efficiency, and delivery without direct authority.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on risk management and proactive issue resolution.
