About the team

 

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

About the Role

As a Senior Product Manager, you will lead product strategy, engagement, and experience design within your assigned retail domain — whether supermarkets, liquor, or group platforms — ensuring that products deliver meaningful customer experiences and measurable business value.

Reporting to the Group Product Manager, you will shape and execute the product roadmap informed by customer insights, market trends, and enterprise priorities. You’ll partner closely with design, engineering, and architecture teams to deliver intuitive, scalable solutions aligned with business and technical direction.

This role is pivotal in fostering strong stakeholder engagement across business units, ensuring initiatives are well-defined, value-driven, and delivered with excellence. Through thought leadership and collaboration, you’ll embed a customer-centric, data-informed approach to product development, driving continuous improvement and innovation across our retail brands.

 

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and communicate product vision and strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Lead cross-functional squads to deliver high-impact initiatives from discovery to delivery.
  • Own and evolve the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with customer needs and commercial outcomes.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and drive consensus across business and technology teams.

Execution & Delivery

  • Prioritise and manage product backlogs across squads, ensuring clarity and focus on key outcomes.
  • Monitor and report on product performance using OKRs and customer success metrics.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, manage dependencies, and ensure timely delivery of initiatives.

Team & Capability Development

  • Mentor and coach Product Managers and Associate Product Managers.
  • Contribute to the growth of the Product Chapter through thought leadership and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, experimentation, and continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with IT functions, business partners, and senior stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for business and technology stakeholders regarding product performance and delivery.
  • Communicate progress, insights, and decisions clearly and effectively across all levels.

 

About you and your skills

  • 6–10 years of experience in product management, with a proven track record of delivering strategic outcomes.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in large organisations.
  • Demonstrated success in mentoring and developing product talent.
  • Strong delivery experience in retail or similar customer-centric environments.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
