Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. Senior Product Manager


About the Role

We’re looking for a strategic and customer-focused Senior Product Manager to lead product strategy, engagement, and experience design within one of our Finance Technology domain.

The Senior Product Manager is accountable for the product strategy, roadmap, stakeholder engagement and value delivery across the Finance technology landscape, including SAP Finance systems, treasury platforms and related enterprise capabilities.

The role partners closely with Finance, Treasury, Tax, Architecture, Engineering, Delivery and vendor teams to ensure platforms are resilient, compliant, scalable and aligned to Coles’ finance transformation and enterprise priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmaps aligned to customer needs and business objectives.
  • Ownership for SAP Finance capability roadmaps across areas such as Record to Report, Procure to Pay integration, financial close, tax, treasury, banking, payments, controls and regulatory obligations
  • Lead strategic product initiatives across multiple squads, from discovery through to delivery.
  • Drive customer-centric innovation and deliver measurable commercial and operational outcomes.
  • Ensure alignment between enterprise priorities, customer experience goals, and technical direction.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and build consensus across business and technology teams.
  • Partner closely with design, engineering, and architecture teams to deliver scalable and intuitive solutions.

Execution & Delivery

  • Prioritise and manage product backlogs across squads, ensuring focus on the highest-value opportunities.
  • Monitor product performance through OKRs, customer metrics, and business outcomes.
  • Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges to ensure successful execution.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Ensure product initiatives are well-defined, value-driven, and delivered with excellence.

Team Leadership & Capability Development

  • Mentor and coach Product Managers and Associate Product Managers to build capability and career growth.
  • Lead and inspire teams of people leaders and operational specialists, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Set clear objectives aligned to domain and enterprise goals, and measure performance against outcomes.
  • Contribute to the growth of the Product Chapter through thought leadership, best practices, and continuous learning.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with business partners, IT teams, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
  • Act as a key point of contact for product performance, risks, and strategic initiatives within the domain.
  • Communicate progress, insights, decisions, and recommendations clearly across all levels of the organisation.
  • Provide transparent, data-driven reporting on service performance, customer outcomes, and opportunities for improvement.

 

About you and your skills:

  • Significant experience in Product Management within complex enterprise or retail environments.
  • Deep experience with SAP Finance ecosystems, preferably SAP S/4 HANA Finance modules
  • Deep experience delivering large scale finance transformations
  • Proven ability to lead product strategy and delivery across multiple squads or product portfolios.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior leadership levels.
  • Deep understanding of customer-centric product development, agile delivery, and data-informed decision making.
  • Experience mentoring and developing product teams and fostering high-performing cultures.
  • A passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
