What you’ll be doing

 

The Insights team within the broader Coles Technology team focuses on building data collection and analytics capabilities to uncover customer, products and operational insights, providing data driven support to our users, and enabling Coles to be a data driven organisation.

 

We are embarking on engineering, enablement, operations and delivery of key data initiatives, building them using market leading cloud technologies, including; MS Azure, Databricks, Snowflake and Spark.

 

The cloud transformation journey we are in, focuses on democratising and streamlining sharing of data across team and will enable teams to operate more efficiently, provide better insights, and scale with the exponential growth of data.

 

 

Key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Leading the product planning and execution throughout the data product lifecycle, incl. gathering and prioritizing product features and customer requirements
  • Lead the business engagement and develop and maintain the roadmap for the Insights and EDP team
  • Carry out research into the data and insights domain and competitor products and services
  • Lead the definition and refinement of the product vision, in line with the data strategy
  • Work closely with a wide variety of internal stakeholders including the engineering teams, operations, and other technology and business stakeholders to build the right data platform that ensures benefits and customer satisfaction goals are met
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to build their data capabilities
  • Articulate and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap to stakeholders
  • Maintain a clean product backlog with features prioritized by value
  • Lead a team of Product Owners and Business Analysts to meet Business outcomes

 

Good things you’ll need

 

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience as a product manager of digital products in an agile environment
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching products
  • Experience with roles in the data domain highly desirable
  • Experience in leading and guiding a team including coaching, having difficult conversations, and providing feedback
  • Understanding of business intelligence & analytics applications within corporate environments
  • Good understanding of retail domain
  • Proven experience and proficiency in all aspects of Information Management life cycle, data management, analytics, information governance, IM architecture, processes, technologies, and methodologies.
  • Experience in business change methodologies.
  • Ability to establish roadmaps to leverage Coles Information assets to deliver value that aligns with the business strategies
  • Comfortable in resolving conflict and able to facilitate discussion on alternatives and different approaches
  • Excellent strategic thinking with commercial acumen, stakeholder management and strong communication skills
