About the role


As a Senior Product Designer you lead by example to inspire your design team and squad across planning, research, ideation, design and execution. You’ll create high-quality digital experiences for the Coles Group web and mobile platforms, delivering compelling and accessible designs for our customers. 


You will also

 

 

  • Deliver a customer-led approach to product design, exploring human problems via journey maps and personas to create wireframes and prototypes through to conducting user testing to validate designs. 
  • Align design output to the Coles Customer Experience Strategy, Business Strategy, and Digital Strategy. 
  • Work closely with product and technology delivery to ensure experiences are desirable, feasible and viable.   
  • You encourage a culture of collaboration with product and engineering teams.  
  • Support Managers to build up the design capability within the Design and Digital Experience team. 

 

About you and your skills

 

  • Strong experience as a UX/Product designer or similar, with extensive skills in journey mapping, concept development, wireframe design, UI creation, prototype development, and user testing and facilitation. 

  • 2+ years’ experience supporting digital channels for large, complex organisations requiring stakeholder management. 

  • 2+ years’ experience in project leadership or team mentoring. 

  • Extensive experience designing for responsive sites, web apps, native apps, and a deep understanding of Human Interface Guidelines, Material Design, Atomic design 

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with engineers that utilise react-js, storybook, swift for iOS & Java for Android, by leveraging your understanding of HTML/CSS, REST APIs and native development technologies. 

  • Ability to create rapid, low-fi through to high-fi prototypes and iterate. 

  • Experience communicating and rationalizing design decisions alongside feasibility. 

  • A demonstrated capability in creating wireframes, UI and interactive prototypes; & providing developers a clear picture of what we are looking to create. 

  • Skilled in translating business process and customer behaviours/insights into design concepts. 

  • Experience working in a digital-first organisation with a strong customer-centric focus.
