About the role
(Melbourne-based role)
As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll help shape the future of the shop and checkout customer journey across app and web. This is a high-impact role at the heart of our checkout experience, tackling complex problems holistically and driving measurable improvements to the customer experience. You’ll be a big-picture thinker, connecting the dots between checkout and upstream shopping journeys, ensuring customers clearly see the value of shopping with Coles.
Your work will influence experiences relied upon by millions of Australians every day, including those with accessibility needs, where thoughtful design is critical.
What you’ll do

Own the end-to-end design of the checkout experience across digital channels

Lead by example, guiding the squad through planning, research, ideation, design, and execution

Deliver high-quality, accessible experiences for Coles app and web channels

Use data and insights to explore problems, create concepts, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to validate ideas

Partner closely with product, engineering, data, AI, personalisation and shop teams to deliver seamless experiences

Identify opportunities to improve conversion and customer satisfaction

Balance customer needs with business goals through holistic problem-solving

Influence decisions through compelling storytelling and clear articulation of design rationale

Mentor and coach other designers, amplifying impact beyond your own work
About you
-
Proven experience as a Senior Product Designer in digital product environments (native app and e-commerce experience highly regarded)

Strong portfolio showcasing your approach, design thinking, how you overcome challenges and the impact you have on key customer and business metrics

Ability to think strategically and at a system level while executing with attention to detail

You’re a collaborative team player with a growth mindset who contributes to the wider design team, sharing your craft, learning from others, and working together toward shared goals
