About the team
Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.
About the role
As a Senior Product Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in advancing Corporate Technology’s mission to enable a resilient, intelligent and future‑ready Coles. You’ll maximise the value of new and existing enterprise platforms, delivering measurable outcomes that support how Coles works today and into the future.
This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, data, and technology, helping to power the future of work, enable data‑led decision making, digitise and automate operations, and ensure solutions are secure, trusted, and compliant by design.
You will oversee and optimise key enterprise platforms, including Microsoft applications, Azure, Power BI, and portfolio/project management tools (PPM and Clarity), ensuring solutions are effectively governed, aligned to enterprise standards, and delivering measurable business value.
Key Responsibilities:
Product & enterprise leadership
- Ensure initiatives align to portfolio priorities and investment sequencing, clearly connecting delivery outcomes to business benefits and strategic objectives.
- Build deep enterprise awareness, with a strong understanding of the Coles operating model, how technology enables business outcomes, and the interdependencies between corporate functions and store operations.
- Develop expert‑level knowledge of enterprise retail, understanding upstream and downstream dependencies across products, integrations, data models and business processes.
- Provide thought leadership on how changes within one domain impact the broader enterprise ecosystem, ensuring stability, cohesion and long‑term value across the retail technology stack.
- Research industry trends, competitor capabilities and emerging technologies to inform product strategy and identify new opportunities.
Stakeholder engagement & communication
- Act as the central communication point, facilitating alignment across highly diverse stakeholder groups throughout the product lifecycle.
- Clearly articulate product goals, trade‑offs, risks and recommendations to build shared understanding and confidence.
- Regularly engage stakeholders to provide progress updates, manage scope changes, and proactively address risks or concerns.
- Use reporting tools (dashboards, status reports, insights) to ensure transparency and support informed decision‑making.
- Mediate between business and technical teams to resolve conflicts and ensure decisions align to overall objectives.
- Collaborate with external technology partners and vendors to clarify requirements, validate solutions and ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
Analysis, requirements & solution design
- Translate complex business problems across retail operations, corporate functions and technology domains into clear, actionable product requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Lead business process re‑engineering, mapping and optimising processes and system workflows to enable automation, efficiency and cross‑system integration.
- Develop high‑quality requirements and documentation appropriate to the delivery approach and lifecycle stage, ensuring clarity and value alignment.
- Apply audience‑centric communication, tailoring documentation and presentations to the needs of executives, delivery teams and operational stakeholders.
- Perform deep‑dive analysis across customer, operational and technical data to surface insights that inform product strategy, prioritisation and roadmaps.
- Support solution assessment, validation and requirements traceability to ensure delivered capabilities meet both business and technical expectations.
About you and your skills:
- Strong experience as a Senior Product Analyst, Senior Business Analyst or similar in large, complex organisations
- Proven capability working across enterprise platforms, integrations, and data‑driven products
- Deep understanding of retail or enterprise operating models (retail experience highly regarded)
- Advanced stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, including senior leadership
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Experience working in agile and hybrid delivery environments
- A strong appreciation for security, risk, compliance and governance in enterprise technology
