About the team

 

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

The Workplace Services team has manage broad and mission critical services; from an applications perspective, we own the strategy and delivery of Enterprise Workplace Technology platforms, from a Workplace Infrastructure perspective our infrastructure services and devices span Supermarkets, Liquor Stores, Supply chain sites (Distribution and Customer Fulfilment centres) and Store Support Centres. 

About the role: 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Platform Manager to join our Workplace Applications team. 

In this role you will own the definition and delivery of the Digital Workplace Strategy and operational outcomes, leading high-performing teams across Microsoft 365, the Atlassian Suite, AI personal-productivity tools, Workplace toolsets, software-licence governance, application sourcing and packaging, client security toolsets and vulnerability management—unlocking secure, scalable productivity at enterprise scale. 

The Senior Platform Manager will collaborate extensively with other Technology Teams architecture, and product teams, as well as senior business stakeholders, to deliver integrated, secure, and user-centric Workplace Technology solutions. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • People leadership & capability uplift: develop leaders and inclusive teams; set measurable objectives, support team members in standardising ecosystems, engineering and scale automation 
  • Own and deliver the Digital Workplace Strategy & roadmap — define a multi-year plan aligned to enterprise goals, secure cross-functional buy-in, track measurable outcomes that lift productivity, experience and security. 
  • End-to-end platform delivery & reliability — lead service ownership for Workplace Applications including primarily Microsoft 365, Atlassian, AI productivity tools and workplace applications. 
  • Security posture & risk: Deliver endpoint security, patching and vulnerability management, enforce secure-by-design, identity/data controls and compliance to continually reduce risk. 
  • Commercial & vendor governance: Vendor assurance; partner on sourcing strategies and performance to meet organisational goals. 

 
About you and your skills: 

  • A skilled technologist with 10+ years’ experience in Technology leadership with responsibility for end-to-end lifecycle, performance and support 
  • Demonstrated experience in defining Digital Workplace Strategy and helping to grow the Workplace Services function 
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in Operations for Workplace Technology Applications and/or End User Compute is essential 
  • Proven experience in building and growing Technology Partner relationships and managed services beyond the transactional, managing commercial agreements and assurance service delivery 
  • Proven ability to lead large teams, navigate organisational change, and embed improved ways of working 
  • Proven track record managing complex technology platforms in large-scale, enterprise or multi-stakeholder environments 
  • Hands-on experience managing incidents, problem resolution and root cause analysis across production systems or mission-critical platforms
