Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

About the role:


We are looking for a Senior Platform Manager – Service Management & Observability to define and maintain the strategy, vision and roadmap for assigned platform(s), ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, business needs and technology direction. You will work alongside engineering, architecture and product teams to plan and prioritise upgrades, enhancements and lifecycle initiatives and serve as the primary liaison for platform stakeholders across Technology, Product, Operations and Business teams.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure platforms are stable, performant and well-supported across environments and use cases.
  • Coordinate incident response and problem management processes, including post-incident reviews and resolution of recurring issues.
  • Maintain lifecycle currency by planning and executing upgrades, patches and end-of-life transitions in line with risk and supportability guidelines.
  • Collaborate with operations, SRE, and vendor teams to ensure effective monitoring, alerting and operational procedures.
  • Ensure platforms meet internal governance standards and external compliance requirements, including data security, audit readiness and change control.
  • Coordinate risk assessments and work with Cyber Security and Risk teams to close gaps and ensure platform controls are in place.
  • Maintain clear documentation and visibility of platform dependencies, risk posture and support model.

 

About you and your skills:

  • 10+ years’ experience in technology platform or application management, with responsibility for end-to-end lifecycle, performance and support.
  • Proven track record managing complex technology platforms in large-scale, enterprise or multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Experience coordinating across engineering, DevOps, security, architecture and business teams to deliver platform enhancements and maintain operational health.
  • Demonstrated experience in platform lifecycle management, including upgrades, patching, decommissioning and technology risk remediation.
  • Strong understanding of platform architecture, infrastructure and operational dependencies, with the ability to assess impacts, risks and priorities.
  • Familiarity with IT service management, change and incident management processes and tools such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management.
  • Good working knowledge of cyber security and compliance principles, including access control, data protection and platform controls.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical detail into business context.
  • Hands-on experience managing incidents, problem resolution and root cause analysis across production systems or mission-critical platforms.
  • Experience working with third-party vendors or support partners, including oversight of SLAs, support models and escalations (where applicable).
