Our Finance team are a vital partner in every aspect of our business, providing commercial insights to drive our success and influence everything we do. With presence in every department, we analyse performance, and deliver actionable insights that shape our strategic decisions.
<h3>About the role</h3>
This is a pivotal leadership role that will shape the financial future of Coles Group. You’ll drive transformation across enterprise-wide planning cycles, embed innovative financial modelling practices, and influence decisions at the highest level. Your work will directly enable smarter, faster strategic choices that position Coles for long-term success.
- Shape the strategic direction of Coles Group by modelling complex financial scenarios, assessing drivers, assumptions and impacts to inform decisions that influence future growth.
- Redesign and optimise planning frameworks by implementing fit-for-purpose financial planning cycles aligned with scenario-based modelling to deliver agility and precision.
- Lead a transformation in financial planning through a modelling-led approach to budgeting, forecasting and corporate planning, including rolling forecasts, while maximising the use of financial systems for target setting and performance tracking.
- Own Group Planning for critical processes such as the annual budget and corporate plan, delivering high-quality materials for Board and ELT across P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow to enable informed strategic decision-making.
- Elevate the quality and impact of planning deliverables by integrating commercial insights and driving a step-change in processes, governance and stakeholder engagement.
- Influence and partner with senior leaders across Finance and the broader business to ensure financial plans reflect an end-to-end commercial perspective and align with corporate strategy, purpose and vision.
<h3>About you and your skills</h3>
You are a seasoned finance leader with deep expertise in shaping enterprise-wide planning and driving organisational change. Your experience spans complex, multi-business environments, with a proven ability to deliver high-impact executive and board-level reporting. Your capabilities will include:
- Strategic leadership in end-to-end corporate planning and finance strategy.
- Advanced financial acumen across P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, leveraging KPIs to enable commercial outcomes.
- Expertise in designing and executing budgeting and forecasting cycles to support strategic decision making and financial performance.
- Exceptional stakeholder influence and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage at ELT and Board level.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills to simplify complex concepts for executive decision making.
- Strong leadership in coaching and developing high-performing teams.
