Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

 

 

About the role

 


As the group that enable the fulfilment of customer orders across our national supermarket network, we are currently working on several cutting-edge initiatives that will allow us to take the next steps in our evolution towards greater efficiency and sustainability. You will be pivotal in making this happen.

 

Our Senior Software Engineers are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining world-class software. You will be expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritise and deliver software features, review code, and provide feedback to other developers. You will also be responsible for ensuring the quality of software products and mentoring junior developers.


You will also contribute to creating a team culture that encourages high-performance and a fun working environment. We’re after a highly skilled C# and .NET engineer, ideally with work experience in large organisations.

 

 

About you and your skills

 

  • Extensive experience in .NET frameworks and C#
  • Seasoned software engineer with at least 6 years’ experience
  • Experience designing and building APIs and Backends for Frontends (BFFs)
  • Experience with microservices/serverless architectures
  • Experience with containerisation & release pipelines
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
  • Extensive experience working in cloud environments (strong preference 
    for Azure)
  • Experience working in large scale projects and heavy-traffic platforms
  • Good knowledge of software engineering practices (clean code, SOLID)
  • Good knowledge of software engineering principles (KISS, YAGNI, DRY)
  • Advocate for good software engineering practices (automated testing, CI/CD)
  • Strong working knowledge of unit testing for both Backend & Frontend code
  • Good exposure to Agile working environments and ability to drive strong Agile ways of working
