Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. We’re looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Technology team in a permanent role, focused on building and enhancing integrations between SAP and enterprise systems, as well as supporting the implementation of trade planning tools across the business.

 

About the Role

As a Senior Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing and delivering robust, scalable integration solutions that connect SAP with other internal and third-party platforms. You’ll work closely with architects, product teams, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless data flow and high system reliability.

 

This role does not have direct reports, however there are strong opportunities to mentor engineers and contribute to uplifting engineering capability across the team.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing and implementing integrations between SAP and enterprise systems
  • Supporting and delivering trade planning tool implementations
  • Developing scalable backend services using C# and/or Java
  • Building and optimising solutions on Microsoft Azure
  • Writing and optimising SQL queries and managing data integration processes
  • Contributing to front-end components where required (React experience is advantageous)
  • Supporting CI/CD pipelines and contributing to DevOps practices
  • Driving engineering best practices including code quality, testing, and documentation
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams across Technology and Commercial

 

About You

You’re a senior engineer who enjoys solving complex integration challenges and working across enterprise platforms. You bring strong backend capability, cloud experience, and a collaborative mindset.

 

We’re looking for experience in:

  • C# and/or Java development
  • Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, Service Bus, APIs, etc.)
  • SQL and data integration patterns
  • Enterprise system integrations, ideally involving SAP
  • CI/CD and DevOps principles

 

Nice to have:

  • React (front-end exposure)
  • Experience with trade planning or retail systems
  • Prior experience working in large, complex enterprise environments
