About the team

 

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

 

About the role

 

As a senior software engineer, you will design, build, and maintain integration platforms using industry best practices, including developing and maintaining integrations across the Supply Chain Network. You will champion strong engineering principles and drive results. You will actively contribute to the team. You will take initiative, collaborate with other Coles members to achieve the best outcomes for your team and Coles, mentor engineers, and improve the developer experience. 

 

 

Experience

 

  • Minimum of 8-10 years professional experience as an Engineer and at least 2-3 years' experience in a Senior capacity
  • Experience in C#, Java, Python, NodeJS and similar languages
  • Experience working in the DevOps ways of working
  • Experience in building cloud components using CD/CI best practices and cloud native components
  • Experience in modern architecture patterns. (DDD, Event Architecture)

Development

 

  • Development of Integration IaaS/PaaS/SaaS solutions within the Azure cloud
  • Support of existing services and platforms
  • Code review, testing, deployment and maintenance of the products in the Integration space
  • Continual learning and knowledge of the technologies used in Coles as directed by the leadership team
  • Contributing to the culture of collaboration and inclusiveness in the team
  • Continuously innovating and improving the stack to keep up with the practices and technology 

 

 

Leadership within the team

 

  • Good interpersonal skills and demonstrates initiative
  • Good analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skill
  • Capability to mentor junior engineers
