Senior DevOps Engineer 


About the role: 


As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible the development, testing, and support of automated infrastructure as code (IaC) for provisioning the Boomi (iPaaS) platform for internal Coles projects. You will work closely with teams across the business and other Engineering Teams each day to determine business requirements and turn them into deliverables.  


What you’ll be doing 


Working in the Integration Engineering Team, you will work collaboratively establishing good working relationships engaging and consulting with the Digital delivery team, and providing Digital Cloud advice and representation in the wider IT community. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you provide input, influence, and communicate innovative cloud solutions that aim to reduce operating costs in the long term. 


Some key day to day activities will include: 

  • Act as the single point of contact for any new project requirements, technical issues and contribute to shape the product roadmap.
  • Identify and lead new integration platform initiatives, prioritising by the greatest need and highest impact.
  • Define and enable automated governance around infrastructure quality, performance, and security using DevSecOps best practices.
  • Drive adoption of our services and tooling through workshops, training, and consultation.
  • Play a key role in mentoring and coaching team members on best practices around Azure DevOps.
  • Provide technical expertise and consulting including documentation, presentations, and showcases to business and technical stakeholders. 


Good things you’ll need 


  • Proven experience in the capacity of Senior DevOps Engineer, using IaC frameworks like Terraform to automate build, deploy, and testing for cloud components using CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong experience in working on any popular cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with a strong preference for the Azure platform.
  • Experience working on any popular COTS iPaaS tools like Dell Boomi, and MuleSoft would be a big bonus.
  • Experience with cloud-related automation concepts and tooling such as Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, JFrog Artifactory, Git, Docker).
  • Experience using Azure foundational services (AKS, AD, SPs, NSGs, ASGs, LBs, etc.).
  • Experience building Azure dashboards using cloud-native tools (i.e., Azure Log Analytics, Azure AppInsights, Azure Monitor, etc) to measure metrics, and monitor the system health of cloud components.
  • Understanding of cloud deployment practices with an awareness of change & service management policies.
  • Excellent engagement skills, managing and coordinating between partners, security, network, architecture, and service management.

  • Hands-on experience building DevOps pipelines for automating the path to production using multiple frameworks.
  • Understanding of integration platforms (Dell Boomi, MuleSoft, etc.)
  • Relevant qualifications or experience in the core technology stack (highlighted above)
