About the role

 

A permanent opportunity of a Senior DevOps Engineer is now available at the Coles Group. 

 

Reporting into the Engineering Manager – Data, this role will primarily be responsible for: 

 

  • Deliver cloud solutions on Azure leveraging automation for standardisation, repeatability, and agility.
  • Manage cloud environments (Azure, Databricks and Power Platform) aligned with company governance and security.

 

Key responsibilities will include

 

Cloud Engineering

 

  • Design and develop cloud-based applications.
  • Manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.
  • Deploy and debug cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle

 

Quality Management

 

  • Review modules developed by Peers.
  • Ensure Standards are maintained

 

 Code Deployment

 

  • Creating and building high quality DevOps friendly, scalable, reusable solutions and components
  • Continuous Integration and Deployment

 

About you & your skills

 

  • At least 5 years relevant experience across Cloud Technologies (primarily Data)
  • Proven experience designing solutions on Azure
  • Demonstrated experience with Application and/or Infrastructure automation/orchestration
  • Exposure to Power Platform and Azure administration (including Databricks and Data Factory)
  • Demonstrated experience with Terraform, Python, PowerShell, Bash and SQL
  • Knowledge of latest Cloud technology trends and issues
  • Solid understanding of Cloud Infrastructure, Networking concepts and experience implementing and supporting
  • Demonstrated understanding of Cloud Security
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD processes and best practices

 

 

Commercial Skills and Formal Qualifications

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or a related discipline preferred
  • Process oriented with strong attention to detail
  • A proven track record of successfully matching technical solutions to business requirements
  • Demonstrated awareness in applicable IT change and problem management processes
  • Azure & Snowflake certifications highly preferred
