Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. You'll work alongside software engineers, ML engineers, and other technology specialists that are passionate about innovation and experimentation, in an inclusive environment that values different perspectives and approaches to problem-solving.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you'll create and implement cloud and edge computing solutions that power our innovation initiatives. These range from real-time computer vision applications to automation tools that improve our internal processes. Your infrastructure solutions will enable our team to rapidly develop, validate, and deliver impactful technology solutions.
Your Impact and Key Responsibilities:
- You'll design, build, and manage infrastructure across our cloud and in-store edge computing environments by:
- Providing leadership and technical excellence for DevOps implementations working alongside architects, software engineers, ML engineers, security and infrastructure teams to deliver and support the rollout of infrastructure solutions utilising GitOps & CI/CD best practices
- Creating and maintaining infrastructure, networking solutions, and automation tools that enable rapid proof-of-concept development
- Partnering with software and machine learning teams to uplift processes and practices that increase speed of delivery while maintaining robust security practices
- Designing and delivering application stacks that support various solutions ranging from full-stack web applications to ML pipelines and edge deployments
- Coaching and mentoring team members regarding best practise DevOps approaches

- Development Practices: GitOps, CI/CD, Agile, IaaS, Microservice Architecture
Experience needed:
- Building strong collaborative relationships and effectively communicate technical concepts across teams with a diverse range of backgrounds and skillsets
- Sharing knowledge and supporting the growth of team members through mentoring and coaching in DevOps best practices
- Contributing effectively both as an independent problem solver and as part of our multi-disciplinary team
- Comfortable with agile ways of working, including the 80/20 rule; balancing the need for quality vs near term business benefit
- Demonstrating empathy and strong interpersonal skills with others
