About the role

 

A permanent opportunity for a Senior DevOps Engineer has risen within our Store Customer Platform function.

 

Reporting to the Platform Engineering Manager, the purpose of this role will include but not be limited to:

 

  • develop, coach, mentor and develop engineers within the team
  • lead complex problems to drive solutions until product outcomes end to end
  • demonstrate good engineering knowledge and practices - understanding the project lifecycle and experience working across and communicating with stakeholders in each of these areas. i.e.
  • analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Release and Operations
  • demonstrate deep understanding of Application deployment processes, Application architecture, Infrastructure architecture, Windows & Azure environments
  • design, implement and provide support for secure automation pipelines
  • demonstrate knowledge and experience with a broad range of DevOps tooling and software, with an ability to learn new tools quickly
  • excellent communicator who can explain complex concepts roadmap to non techies and is able to drive adoption of solutions

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Design, Development & maintenance of pipelines
  • Design, Development & maintenance of automation solution
  • Develop future roadmap for automation with Product Owners
  • Train people in DevOps tool & concepts
  • Mandatory Compliance
  • Self-Leadership

 

About you & your skills

 

  • Positive attitude and an ability to work with a diverse range of personalities.
  • Proven years of working (and 2 years’ leading) in a DevOps engineer capacity, leading or contributing to the DevOps area such as infrastructure, pipelines, build, deploy, release, etc.
  • Strong background and proven experience (>5 years) in software engineering (preferably on a windows & Azure stack)
  • Advanced knowledge of DevOps lifecycle and processes, including experience in the following: Jira, Ansible and Azure DevOps
  • Experience implementing infrastructure and application CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience developing scripts in Terraform, PowerShell, Python

 

Commercial Skills and Formal Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor of Software Engineering or similar (i.e. Computer Science or Information Technology)
  • Retail experience is desirable.
