About the role 

 

Our Digital team is continuously growing and we’re going through a transformation. We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Engineering team to build and deliver world class software. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will help customers find what they are looking for anyplace, anytime, anywhere. 

 

You will
 

  • Drive an engineering team to develop delivery goals within agreed timelines
  • Facilitate agile scrum practices within the team, offer support to delivery managers in defining timelines and project requirements
  • Ensure the team is developing software quality in-line with the broader teams’ expectations
  • Facilitate and govern peer reviews and testing standards
  • Empower and develop the engineering team’s skills
  • Facilitate training, ensure all engineers are meeting needs and gaining help to close gaps
  • Grow a culture that elicits a high-performing team and a fun working environment

 
You have 
 

Extensive experience 

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Data Engineer with a focus on Azure cloud platform 

  • Strong proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and PySpark to build  
    data pipelines and analytics solutions for large volume of data. 

  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python. 

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. 

  • Cloud technologies with Azure framework highly regarded   

  • Adopting a CI/CD Pipeline mindset 

 

Desirable Experience 

  • API client tools i.e Postman 

  • Data processing with Python, pyspark like tools 

  • Willingness to learn/get exposure to other systems and technologies 

  • Good exposure to Agile Scrum working environments 

  • Experience working in large scale projects and heavy-traffic platforms 

  • Ability to drive and enforce software engineering practices 

  • Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills 

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
