About the role
A new 12 month fixed term / secondment opportunity as Senior Category Marketing Manager has arisen within our Grocery Grocery Business Unit.
As the voice of the customer, this role is a key interface with the Category team and the Customer team; ensuring that together we bring incredible customer moments to life that build trust and drive trade.

What you’ll be doing
Reporting to Head Of Marketing, you will:
• Partner with commercial to align marketing & business goals.
• Use customer insights to shape category plans.
• Lead Category marketing strategy to drive demand & create value on key missions
• Develop & Execute go-to-market campaigns with excellence.
• Be an advocate for the customer journey enhancing our ways of working to deliver greater customer impact and omni-channel growth.
You will do this by:
• Developing and supporting the 18-month Grocery Rolling Omni-Channel Customer Trade Plan; Delivering to Own Brand targets; Providing commercialisation opportunities & including the roll-out of strategic category initiatives.
• Identify opportunities, develop solutions, and improve customer experience across the category mission customer journey.
• Working the insights & Customer teams across the business to deliver actionable insights, aligned to Commercial team deliverables.
About you and your skills
You’re an experienced customer centric Marketer / Customer Trader who can lead/is confident to step into leading a small team to bring things to life in an impactful way – across an omni-channel experience.
Coming from a Retail or FMCG background, you are insight-driven and able to craft and communicate a clear plan. You collaborate and influence with ease and can demonstrate driving successful initiatives across an organisation, at pace.
You’ll also need
• Proven experience developing and implementing marketing strategy and campaign management with a strong planning focus and attention to detail
• Strong stakeholder management skills – you will win support and work day to day with Grocery SLT, as well as collaborate with the customer marketing team and other cross-functional teams
• Experience working in Coles would be helpful, but not mandatory
• Excellent project management and process management skills
• E-Comm / Digital knowledge preferred but not essential
• Passion, resilience, and the ability to roll up sleeve when necessary and deal with ambiguity and calm under pressure.
