About the team
Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for an enterprise wide analysis to understand the problem and define the solution for platform engineering
- Investigates problems and analyses options for new and existing platform services, providing recommendations to solutions and produces artefacts such as domain models, workflows, user stories and interface design
- Facilitate collaboration and lead effective communication with all stakeholders to support design, build and delivery to meet the user needs for cloud products being engineered
- Able to analyse current services and processes, and then identify and implement opportunities to optimise these
- Confident working with back-end systems, microservices, databases etc, and actively drive the gap analysis, data mapping and future state of these systems
- Work in close collaboration with the Product Manager and Engineering Manager is maturing the product roadmap
Experience
- Accurately describe the problem statement, business impact and the technology solution approach
- Ability to facilitate and run workshops, showcases and other ceremonies to support product technology and product engineering activities (e.g. discovery, event storming, goal settings)
- Responsible for elicitation of engineering requirements, including writing user stories for agile teams
- Works with stakeholders to prioritise the product backlog based on value and timelines
- Collaborates with the team members to ensure the outcomes match the project requirements and meet the quality standards
- Has a solid understanding of ‘systems of work’ (agile, non-agile, SDLC, CD), and is able to identify areas for improvement and drive change
- Helps to evaluate and clarify requirements requirement gaps, and resolve conflicting or ambiguous requirements
Commercial Skills & Qualifications
- Appropriate tertiary and/or industry experience
- Strong understanding of Agile development
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Hands on experience working in complex technology environments using multiple delivery frameworks
- Understanding of contemporary integration patterns and techniques in cloud (Azure, AWS or Google); and · Experience working with microservices in a cloud environment
