Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. Overview

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Business Analyst (SBA) to join our Web Squad, supporting multiple strategic initiatives focused on enhancing our digital presence and customer experience. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between business needs and technical execution, ensuring that web-based solutions are aligned with user expectations, business goals, and technical feasibility. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

Requirements Engineering & Story Writing

 

  • Translate complex business requirements into clear, concise, and technically feasible user stories using the INVEST framework. Define robust acceptance criteria to ensure quality delivery and traceability. 

 

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Facilitation

 

  • Lead and facilitate workshops, interviews, and discovery sessions with cross-functional stakeholders including Product, UX/UI, Engineering, and Marketing. Drive consensus and alignment across diverse stakeholder groups. 

 

 

Documentation & Analysis

 

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation including business requirements, technical specifications, use cases, process flows, and customer journey maps. Perform gap analysis, impact assessments, and root cause investigations to support decision-making. 

 

 

Solution Design & Technical Analysis

 

  • Collaborate with architects and developers to define scalable and maintainable solutions. Evaluate existing systems and propose enhancements or integrations to improve performance and user experience. 

 

 

Agile Delivery Support

 

  • Actively participate in and occasionally lead Scrum ceremonies (e.g., stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives). Partner with the Delivery Lead and Product Manager to manage backlog prioritization, sprint goals, and release planning. 

 

 

Continuous Improvement

 

  • Champion best practices in business analysis and agile delivery. Identify opportunities to improve team processes, tools, and collaboration.

 

 

Key Requirements

 

 

Experience & Expertise

 

  • Minimum 5+ years in a Business Analyst role, with a strong focus on digital/web platforms. Proven experience working in Agile environments, ideally within Scrum or SAFe frameworks. Demonstrated ability to work in large, complex organizations with multiple stakeholders and legacy systems.

 

 

Technical Proficiency

 

  • Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Swagger, Postman, and Figma or similar design tools. Familiarity with web technologies, API integrations, and eCommerce platforms is highly desirable. 

 

 

Domain Knowledge

 

  • Experience in Retail eCommerce, digital marketing, or customer experience platforms is a strong advantage. 

 

 

Education

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related fields. 

 

 

Soft Skills

 

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
