About the Role:
Are you passionate about safety and looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Coles is seeking a dedicated Safety Advisor for our Victorian Store Operations team. In this role, you will be a trusted expert, providing safety advice to Regional Managers to increase their capability and confidence in creating a safety culture. You will integrate practical safety into decision-making, delivering great results across people and food metrics.
What you will be doing:
- Safety Expertise: Provide safety advice to Regional Managers, enhancing their ability to create a safety culture and integrate safety into decision-making.
- Incident Investigation: Lead and participate in key investigations into notifiable safety incidents, ensuring continuous improvement in safety performance and debriefing on lessons learned.
- Safety Improvement: Drive safety improvement and risk reduction by analysing data and providing actionable insights. Partner with Regional Managers to deliver and embed these outcomes.
- Regulator Management: Manage regulator issues (Food & People) end-to-end, building positive relationships and ensuring resolution.
- Operational Expertise: Provide operational expertise in people and food safety systems.
- Availability: Be accessible on weekends and after hours to manage incidents as required.
You will ideally have:
- A driver's license and a car. (must)
- Proven experience in a safety advisory role, preferably within the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyse data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certificate IV Work Health and Safety / Food Safety
