At Coles, we’re always looking for ways to make our business stronger, smarter, and safer. As part of our Group Risk Centre of Excellence (COE), you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how we manage risk across our business.
We’re seeking a Risk Manager to join us on a 14-month fixed term contract, partnering with senior leaders to strengthen risk capability and governance across Coles Group.
About the role
- Act as a trusted business partner, providing pragmatic and practical risk advice to senior stakeholders (Heads of and GMs).
- Shape, tailor and embed risk frameworks to fit diverse business needs; particularly in cyber security, technology, projects and strategy.
- Independently oversee and govern risk across Group, ensuring risks are clearly understood and effectively managed.
- Support the assessment of Group-wide initiatives and requests, with a strong focus on technology-driven projects.
- Review budgets and investment proposals from a risk perspective, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Build capability and uplift risk awareness across the business, coaching stakeholders to think proactively about risk.
About you & your skills
- 5+ years’ experience in risk management, ideally with a consulting background and exposure to large, complex organisations.
- Strong understanding of cyber, technology, project and strategic risks.
- Ability to tailor frameworks and governance processes to meet business needs without unnecessary complexity.
- Pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to see the bigger picture.
- Confidence working independently with senior stakeholders, balancing detail with strategic impact.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with a natural ability to build trust and credibility.
