About the role

Our Store Development team is constantly challenging the possibilities of retail design. It’s not only an exciting environment to work in, it’s a rewarding one too. Every day, we work with innovative formats and concepts to connect with customers and improve their in-store experiences, no matter the size or layout of our stores.

 

As the Retail Development Manager, you’ll identify opportunities for improvement in the Supermarket and Coles Local blueprints across return on space, sustainability, and costs.  

 

What you’ll be doing

You’ll manage the development and delivery of performance improvement roadmaps across each workstream and identify future opportunities to feed the roadmap for continuous business improvement.

You’ll also:

  • Analyse future trends and interpret merchandise, online and marketing strategies to adopt macro space on the blueprint
  • Provide clarity on format differentiation and financial benefits associated with each
  • Influence and engage with cross-functional teams, collating relevant information to drive change whilst managing stakeholder expectations
  • Identify opportunities that can be fed into future plans with a key focus on sustainability, new innovation and cost
  • Embed compliance requirements into business planning and practices

 

Good things you’ll need

A deep understanding of the retail industry, and a good knowledge of process improvement and project management methodology.

 

You’ll also need

  • The ability to lead projects, with limited direction and or information, while promoting a continual improvement culture – develop project plans, complete impact assessments, as well as risk and issues tracking
  • Managed an operational project or change initiative and delivered when under time/resource pressures
  • Proven ability to interpret analytical data and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Proven customer relationship management skills and an ability to innovate new processes within work areas
  • top notch interpersonal and communication skills to influence cross functional stakeholders, resulting in improved format planning for our stores #LI-BU
