About the team

 

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

About the role 

 

We’re seeking a Quality Lead to drive quality practices across a complex enterprise landscape spanning retail supply chain platforms. 

This is a leadership role responsible for setting quality strategy, influencing stakeholders, and ensuring solutions are delivered safely. You will lead end-to-end quality across the delivery lifecycle, including test strategy, environments, and validation of functional and non-functional requirements across integrated systems. 

A key focus is embedding an automation-first approach, governing frameworks, and driving consistent adoption across engineering teams. You will mentor QA capability and partner closely with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to uplift quality outcomes and delivery confidence. 

 

About you 

  • A strong people leader who can build, mentor, and uplift QA  teams
  • Highly effective at managing and influencing stakeholders, including senior leaders across Technology and the business
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced retail environment, with an appreciation for supply chain  complexity
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive outcomes
  • Commercially aware, with a focus on risk, delivery quality, and operational impact 

 

About your skills 

  • Extensive experience in testing, including leading QA  practices across complex delivery environments
  • Experience in a retail or supply chain environment, with understanding of end-to-end operational processes  
  • Strong leadership capability, with experience leading teams and driving quality outcomes
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated experience building or governing test automation frameworks and improving automation coverage at scale
  • Solid understanding of functional, regression, UAT, performance, and API testing, with hands-on capability as required
