Central Operations keeps our business moving. Our team supports, coaches, and empowers our retail teams across the country. We help them be at their best, so they can deliver the best experiences for our team members and customers every day.
About the role
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Project Manager to join the Coles Operations team. In this role, you’ll lead the delivery of key strategic projects across our national supermarket network, driving operational improvements and enhancing customer experience. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic goals. You will also:
• Partner with senior stakeholders to define clear project scope, objectives, and success measures
• Own project financials, including setup, cost estimates, and ongoing budgets forecasting
• Develop and manage detailed project plans to ensure delivery against key milestones and performance metrics
• Provide strategic advice to steering committees and uphold strong reporting, governance, and risk management practices
• Collaborate across internal teams and external partners to drive delivery, with a strong focus on change management and sustainable outcomes
• Create and deliver high-quality project communications and stakeholder packs tailored to diverse audiences
About you and your skills
You’ll bring expertise in delivering large-scale projects, ideally in retail or operations, with a solid understanding of the retail landscape, strong communication and stakeholder skills and the ability to own governance and change management.
You will have:
• Proven experience leading large scale projects, preferably within retail or operational environments
• Strong understanding of store operations, retail compliance (desirable) and customer experience expectations
• Track record of strategic thinking by identifying and implementing effective process improvements
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
• Confident using data to inform decisions, provide insights, and create compelling presentations that tell a clear story
• Skilled in managing change and embedding sustainable solutions and improvements
