About the team

Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. As a part of the Technology team, you get the opportunity to work through complex, challenging, meaningful problems using large data sets and new technologies to expand your skills and experience.

Ready to take your project management career to the next level?
Coles is seeking a driven and delivery-focused Project Manager to lead critical projects in our Integration and Integration-as-a-Service Technology portfolios.

About the role:

In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for driving the end-to-end delivery of technology integration initiatives — connecting platforms, services, and systems that power Coles Group’s future.
You’ll work closely with Integration Architects, Engineering Leads, and Business Stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of integration solutions that are scalable, resilient, and business-aligned.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-profile, enterprise-scale integration projects while building your leadership and technical delivery expertise in a nationally significant environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of integration and store infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives, timelines, budgets, and scope.
  • Partner closely with Integration Architects, Engineering Leads, analysts and Business Stakeholders to translate technical vision into executable project plans.
  • Drive delivery of APIs, event-driven services, and system-to-system integration solutions that support Coles’ operational and digital transformation.
  • Manage technical dependencies, platform risks, and integration points across multiple teams and environments.
  • Lead proof-of-concept initiatives to drive early adoption of new integration frameworks, patterns, and technologies.
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration between engineering, platform, and business teams to ensure seamless delivery outcomes.
  • Maintain high standards of governance, compliance, and risk management across all projects, ensuring best practice delivery and operational readiness.
  • Proactively manage stakeholder expectations through clear, consistent communication across technical and business domains.
  • Champion continuous improvement, driving lessons learned and refinements into future project deliveries.
  • Promote a delivery culture focused on innovation, agility, and customer value within the integration delivery portfolio.

About You and Your Skills:

  • Minimum 5+ years of IT Project Management experience, successfully delivering complex technology projects, ideally with significant exposure to integration technologies.
  • Strong understanding of integration delivery principles, including APIs, events, messaging platforms (e.g., Kafka), and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Proven expertise in strategic project planning, execution, and resource management in large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in working closely with architecture, engineering, and business teams to align technical solutions with business outcomes.
  • Strong capability in risk mitigation, dependency management, and cross-platform delivery coordination.
  • Skilled in agile, hybrid, and traditional delivery methodologies, with a flexible approach tailored to project needs.
  • Highly developed stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • Track record of managing external vendors and partners to deliver high-quality integration solutions.

Comprehensive understanding of IT project delivery frameworks and best practices, including governance, process optimisation, and operational integration.
